Developing Preliminary Task

In order to develop the task we must think about the characters in more detail and where the story will go next...

Character 1 - Marco

Personality:

Marco is a charismatic teenage boy who is a friend to many people. His positive outlook on things is what helps him to enjoy life and always have fun. He has a good sense of humour and sometimes struggles with controlling the volume of his humour in public! He is a very expressive person, always willing to share his view on things; whether they are good or bad.

Hobbies:

Marco enjoys socialising with friends, visits to Starbucks, shopping trips, going to the movies, reading, travelling to new and exotic places, and experimenting with fashion.

Motivations during the scene:

His tireless aim to support and please others means that he works to help Ella throughout the scene as she is struggling with personal issues. He uses his humour to make Ella see the positive side of things and look past her troubles.

Character 2 - Ella

Personality:

Ella is quiet but sure of herself. She is confident and tries not to let people get her down, resolving her problems quickly with the help of close friends. Ella is a popular girl but does not use this to her advantage, simply getting on with a large variety of people.

Hobbies:

Ella enjoys socialising with friends, but her biggest passion is music; whether she's going out to gigs, camping at festivals or creating the music herself (as a singer-songwriter and guitarist). She likes shopping and is constantly introducing the latest trends into her own unique style. Ella very much enjoys settling down with a good book or magazine in her spare time and watching her favourite TV shows of an evening.

Motivations during the scene:

In the scene, Ella shares with Marco that her now ex-boyfriend cheated on her very recently. He talks her through it and helps her to be more positive. She is good friends with Marco and knows that, due to his bubbly personality, he is the perfect person to confide in to make her feel better.
